NIADST is charged with bringing awareness about common health issues facing African Americans. We do this by coordinating and/or participating in activities to support national and local health education initiatives, disseminating information that promotes healthy lifestyles, focusing on increasing mental health awareness, and encouraging mental wellness and self-care within communities of color.
